4. Student and Alumni Support

Provide an outstanding student experience outside the classroom to support the intellectual, emotional, and spiritual growth of our students, and continue serving them as alumni.

1. Develop the Student Success Center to offer improved advising, mentoring, and tutoring services to help students who need greater assistance.

2. Improve the caliber of current career counseling and placement services by encouraging students to think effectively and creatively about their plans while they are still in school; facilitate internships during school years; and facilitate job placement upon completing a degree.

3. Improve the overall student experience by enriching and uplifting residential life.

4. Improve food service: nourish our students with delicious and nutritious food, prepared and served by a happy, positive food service staff.

5. Continue promoting a substance-free campus.

6. Enhance Student Activities to improve the intellectual, physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being of our students.

7. Create a well-functioning support system for international students to meet their academic and social needs, and implement programs to further understanding, appreciation, and interactions between international and US students.

8. Develop and offer an increased variety of opportunities for student/faculty/administration interaction outside the classroom.

9. Continue to refine Welcome Weekend and Orientation for new students to ensure a smooth transition to life at MIU.

10. Reconnect with alumni and offer valuable services to keep them engaged with and supportive of the University’s growth and expansion.
